biodeisel
lotus cat asked:

Will the drive for it and with more and more wanting to jump on the ‘bandwagon’ for whatever gains, lead to world hunger? Your thoughts please..
mark: alot of rapeseed is now being grown for biodiesel production.

No. Bio is made out of used vegetable oil, not virgin veg. so it wont change much as far as world hunger.

Besides the obvious problems with biodiesel, like the chemicals used on the crops and the transportation of the biodiesel and the fact that corn is often used for the biodiesel, there is the void of your warranty on any newer diesel car if you use more than a certain percent. The biodiesel you get at the pump is so low that it does not do much for the environment and you would be better off buying a hybrid car.
