How much work would it be to convert motorcycle to deisel? or a scooter or something at 250cc, both 2 and 4 stroke. do I just need to replace the gas lines and change to glow plugs or what? I plan to use biodeisel but regular if i have too.
the ratios, if i just switch the engine to deisel, faster but less acceleration or slower but more hp? depends on how i put it together?

You need way more work than just changing out those few parts.

Diesel engines have different compression ratios because the fuel is ignited from the pressure/heat in the chamber and not from a spark plug. The glow plugs are there to aid in ignition during the warm-up period. The fuel is also injected at a different time and a lot higher pressure. Think thousands of PSI.

You’d need to replace the entire motor with a diesel motor. The motor will also probably run at different RPMs than the one currently on there so the transmission ratios would be different.

basicly get your chasie and remove everything. then start again.

just as easy to go with an electric conversion if legal (well acualy probably easyer).

rpm would probably be lower with a lower acceleration

diesel engines are too erratic to use for motor cycle engines. in cars due to the size it is easier to smooth the compression of the diesel engines, by using a four stroke engine. disel engines use glow plugs instead of spark plugs, this is why there is no such thing as a 2 stroke diesel, the timing between strokes would be all over the place. think of a diesel car when cold, notice the vibration. this is why there has never been a proper diesel motor bike. i’m not sayin it would be impossible to put a diesel in a motor bike, its just you really wouldnt want to be the one riding it. oh and a motorbike usually revs to 9000 & above rpm. a diesel wouldnt reach half that. to get any sort of resonable preformance out of it the entire gearbox would have to be changed.
