Thank you, Mr. Adams. Ontarians really need to wake up and smell the KY Jelly. Smitherman, McGuinty, Broten, Gerretsen are the big players here. They must be held accountable. I have never seen such corruption in all my days.

What this guy is saying is true. The general public is taking it up the poop shoot. I for one am sick of hearing about the environment. It is being shoved down our throats. I have changed every bulb in my house and installed timers and power monitors and changed to gas and my bill did not change at all. All the money going to , for example, Bullfrog energy for solar water heaters. Who can afford them ? There's more than one reason Stephane Dion did not win an election. His green platform.

Tom is missing the point. The GEA is about creating a new industry for Ontario with all the manufacturing jobs, expertise, AND green energy that will come with it, stuff that we can export to other regions. Higher electricity prices are coming anyways with the new Nukes at Darlington predicted to produce electricity at well over 10cents/kw. By the way, higher prices = lower consumption and MORE innovation in new efficiency technology that we can then export. Accelerated innovation. Very smart.

And I thought I was the only one who thought this way? Green is quickly becoming my most hated colour. Environmentalism is a load of false truths.

Tom consults for AMPCO, the Association of Major Power Consumers in Ontario, who basically want cheap power at any cost.

I think what Tom is pointing out is that the wind industry, like and energy interest group, is out to make a profit. By green-washing the issue and playing on peoples eco-guilt the liberals have ignored sound evidence that increasing our dependence on renewables hasn't actually decreased Co2 emissions (Denmark, Germany). We are still planning to base-load with natural gas. So replace coal with natural gas, that does nothing. We should be investing in Nuclear, and keeping it Canadian.

This is a thought terminating cliche... Simply because someone has a vested interest in something, does not make them disregard social consequences of their actions. On the flip side, the implication that Government will always act in the best interest of the people, because there is no financial regard, is absolutely absurd. This legislation delivers unto the government, it's form of power. Coercion, redistribution and control. All funded through taxation backed by the threat of force.
