The US economy is bleeding money!!!!! Personal savings are at an all time low and debt is at an all time high. By taking the hundreds of billions of dollars that we spend (waste) on oil so some rich prince can make an island shaped like a palm tree and reinvest that money back into the US economy manufacturing solar panels and wind turbines and growing biodeisel crops. Could that cause a rebirth in the US economy?

nope, such an undertaking would require intelligence, so not possible for the USA…

The examples you sited as being related to the US economy (personal savings and debt) will not be changed by energy sources. People need to stop spending more than they make. People in this country are so concerned about having what the “Jones’” have they destroy their own finances.

Have you thought about what would have happened if we had not squandered $500 billion (to date, still rising) on the war in Iraq?

What if we had put that money into solar panels, windmills, or micro-hydro projects? How many billions of gallons of oil would we be saving every year?
